Stitchcraft Galore!

I’ve been designing and crafting plushies and stuffed animals since I was six years old, when my Grandma Eloise taught me how to make a running stitch. In the years following, I’ve taught myself to pattern, embroider, and use a sewing machine! I’ve made everything from huge stuffed animals to tiny cloth dolls, and even sold some of my work! Enjoy the gallery!

The Great Axolotl Sale of 2019

In my third year of working with WWU QueerCon, I decided to return as an artist table as well as being the creative director. Along with selling embroidered patches, beaded accessories, and buttons, I designed a pattern the make miniature axolotl plushies. And i made a BOATLOAD of them! I made about 26 in total, both in the black and red color scheme and the classic pink. I set their price at $20 and every one sold!

The Baby Pink Velociraptor

In 2015, when I got may hands on a huge pink polar fleece remnant, I immediately started looking up pictures of Deinonychus anatomy. I ended up with several sketches of velociraptors, seeing as their size seemed more achievable. I built my pattern around these specific measurements, trying aim for ‘Jurassic Park’ level realism. and then I broke out the pink fabric and make this 55” long monstrosity!

The Bedside Dragon

Later that year, after a short lesson from my mom on running her old sewing machine, I decided to make another big reptile. I broke out the poster paper and drew a (slightly) smaller pattern than the velociraptor, this time to build a whimsical dragon. The actual sewing of the project took longer than expected as I learned how the run the machine, but I ended up with this beautiful 40” beast that can curl up very sweetly on a bed!
