Welcome to my stuff drawer!
Here are some of my graphic design experiments, finished commissions, and multimedia pieces!
Commissions
Life Cycle Paddles (2015 - 2016)
In my senior year of high school, I was assigned a project about reworking a piece of furniture with paint. I immediately asked my professor if I could do these kayak paddles my parents had lying around (she was delighted by the notion) and then proceeded to spend the rest of the year painting the life cycle of the Pink Salmon and Dungeness Crab in acrylics.
RREX’S ZODIAC (2018)
In 2018, I made a digital drawing of my interpretation of the twelve sun signs. I specifically made this (massive 8000 x 8000-pixel canvas) to be printed on Lycra and laminated onto the shell of my updated prosthesis.
RREX’S Alphabet (2022)
After putting it off for a long while, I had a new prosthesis fitted in winter of 2022. Once again, I designed a digital illustration to my laminated into the shell of the new arm. In this iteration, I went for a more crowded look, fitting 5 drawings of each sign in the American Sign Language alphabet onto the canvas. I love looking at the new forearm and seeing my progress as an illustrator; RRex’s Zodiac was one of my first experiences using a Wacom tablet, and four years later my adept knowledge of Clip Studio Paint and Adobe Illustrator guided me to create a wonderful new piece.
